Pleasure Leftists self titled EP from Fan Death Records has been on repeat for quite sometime. The live video from the Fan Death Showcase in Baltimore, MD on April 16, 2011 sends chills up our spine every time we watch it. Their music seems to walk the fine line between love & hate. It screams both passion and disgust. We lust after its sound long after it has passed and eagerly anticipate the next listen almost as much as a nice smoke or a drink.
Perhaps it’s a nature of a feeling or response to a morning in a room, alone or lying silently side by side next to a silent, sleeping lover. Thinking about money and your health – imagining what you may look like in tailored suit cut from the finest fabric. As you slowly drift in and out of the sleep you were in you release you awoke from a dream wherein you were being chased by an animal whose heart you had broken. Flashes of future fights, struggle, a right of passage for a lonely ghost ship stranded all alone in the middle of everything.
