Three Ring Circus – Brewer’s Dinner & Sideshow presented by Sean Z. Paxton

In our years we’ve learned more than a few things, amongst those most important, if you happen to hear about a party being held at an Oddfellows or Elks Lodge space chances are you should do your best to attend. I’m a bit partial to the Elks Lodge simply for the fact that I placed 2nd in the State of Colorado Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest in 3rd grade. Or perhaps it’s because of the barf-o-rama scene from Stand By Me where the Women’s Auxiliary puke all over the Benevolent Order of Antelopes (Elks?). There I said it.

On February 15th, Sean Z. Paxton presents Three Ring Circus featuring Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, Shmaltz Brewing Company and Ninkasi Brewing Company. Together they aim to turn the historic Elks Lodge of San Francisco into a merry carnival of craft brew, fine food, and circus performance.

Ringleader and “Home Brew Chef,” Sean Z. Paxton pairs 12 beers – many rare and unusual – along with a whimsical, circus-inspired 9-course menu to accompany the show.

The three breweries and Mr. Paxton also collaborated to brew the Three Ring Circus Ale, an anything-but-traditional nut brown ale brewed with dulce de leche, popped corn and peanuts that pays homage to the spirit of the circus. The beer was brewed at Speakeasy in San Francisco and will make its debut at the dinner.

With circus sideshow performers contorting their way through the evening, and the exclusive debut of the collaboration beer, the bizarre and intriguing Three Ring Circus is a can’t-miss event to add to your SF Beer Week 2012 itinerary. Reserved tickets are $120 (including all fees and gratuity).
