It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it. More importantly it’s who you are and how much confidence you wear it with. If you can’t love yourself you can’t love anybody else. Do you love yourself? We hope so. If you do, lead and let others follow.
It is this air of confidence that gave Frank Sinatra, James Dean, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and countless other icons after them the appeal that made them so desired by fans, men and women alike. Kids today call it swag, for example some walk with swagger. No matter your preferred nomenclature, style is something we all exude, some of us more than others and unfortunately for some – they completely lack anything remotely resembling it. Alas, there’s help.
Icons of Men’s Style is not a profile of the most distinguished gentleman. It does however offer an inside look at the clothes and must have accessories that helped establish some of the most notable looks of the fashionable male. Similar to engaging with a thoughtful Sommelier, you can expect to learn about the origin and history of the design that helped cement select items place in the Icon Hall of Fame.
For those in need there are of course many additional resources- gentleman, volumes have been written that may provide a timeless guide to fashion for those scholarly types. For the rest of us in need there are magazines and books. For those on the bleeding edge their source is the front line – fashion shows provide a first look at styles and more often trends that may be 6-12 months away from your nearest city.
